#3 - Has anyone setup Instant clone VDI with FIS Horizon XE? if so how did you do it? #2 - If #1 is doable will the system load balance or will the user be presented with 2 desktop choices when they sign in? #1 Can I have 2 floating instant clone pools, one at each site, and have the user assigned to a specific named machine that will be created for them on login depending on which site they get sent to? if this can be done we can just double our listing in horizon with both machine names mapped to printers.

Moving to the instant clones this is going to be different. In the current setup this works fine as users are persistently assigned to their machines and the names don't change. So normally each PC or VDI would have 3 or so entries. In short, we have a table that we link PC name to printer name for x type of check. In this software we have to map printers for user to be able to print checks. We are a FI that using FIS Horizon XE for our core banking. The issue we are running into with this center around our core software. This year we started a project to build a new version 8 VDI system but instead of just using a single site we are going to make sure of both sites using instant clone VDI and the Horizon cloud broker to load balance the sites. We have a 2nd site that has the same compute resources but have never really been able to make good use out of it due to the lack of failover in VDI. This environment is running horizon 7.13 I believe. We are currently running a single site VDI deployment with Persistent desktops with around 190 users. Ok so this might be a bit tricky to explain.
